Coworking in New York City
In March of 2006, Amit Gupta introduced the idea of coworking to NYC. Every other Friday or so, you can meet some of the best and the brightest at Jelly. At the start of October 2006, Noel Hidalgo and Beka Economopoulos opened Coworking Brooklyn.
Current Venues
- Coworking Brooklyn (aka "the jam") @ The Change You Want to See Gallery (Williamsburg) - home to cultural producers, programmers, theorists, activists, and adventure seekers.
- Jelly - Coworking in various locations around NYC, including Bryant Park, Williamsburg, and Tribeca. Jellies usually occur every other Friday, and they generally take place in someone's living room. Jelly is always completely free! (Manhattan & Brooklyn)
- CooperBricolage - Cafe-based coworking at Gramstand (214 Avenue A - Between 13th and 14th Streets). Free to all. Check this Twitter search to see who's there! (East Village)
- 3rdward (Bushwick area in Brooklyn conveniently located near 3 L train stops: Grand, Montrose and Morgan)
- SparkSpace ("coworking for startups" located on Madison Square Park at E 23rd St and Madison Ave)
- New Work City - Open for business starting November 3rd! Full-time, part-time, and drop-in memberships, as well as workshops and events. (200 Varick St, Room 507B, New York, NY 10018)
